UCSF Parnassus Heights
San Francisco, CA
QA was engaged as the Associate Architect in collaboration with HDR as AOR and Herzog & de Meuron as Lead Designer for the new UCSF Parnassus Heights Medical Center. The team designed the new hospital to address the social, psychological, spiritual and behavioral components of health by putting them together in one place. Integrating seamlessly into its surroundings, the new hospital will bring nature, human-centered design and innovative medical care into one healing habitat.
The new hospital will be architecturally outstanding, energy-efficient, seismically sound and environmentally sustainable. The program will offer advanced integrated technologies that create opportunities for personalized services, panoramic views and nature within the spaces that promotes health, a holistic care experience, and spaces for both privacy and community as appropriate.
With a target completion of 2030, the final distribution of beds is still in planning, but the additional space will allow for better care and more amenity services.
