As part of the $2.6 billion SFO Terminal 3 West Modernization, QA collaborated with Gensler / TEF on the design of two prefabricated West and East interim passenger corridors. These corridors will be used for approximately 4 years to facilitate the safe travel of passengers and airport staff to and from Boarding Areas E, F, and International Terminal B Gates.

QA focused on the façade and interior design of both corridors, with additional support on integrating the interim corridors with the existing gates—an effort that required careful coordination and intricate detailing at the seismic joints. For the interiors, our scope included developing concepts to make the passenger journey feel less monotonous, incorporating vibrant colors and dynamic graphics. The goal was to transform complex connection points into visually cohesive, well-designed elements. Ultimately, we helped create a functional, playful, and colorful experience that celebrates the spirit of San Francisco.
