Located on a sunny promontory in Mill Valley, this home is designed to take advantage of the sweeping views of both the wooded ridge to the west and Mount Tamalpais to the north. Spanning over the drive and creating a port cochere, the primary bedroom wing is oriented directly at the mountain and has a private roof deck with stunning views. Bronze panels, limestone, and Sugi Ban wood are used for their fire resistant properties and natural patina with an intricate rain screen to mitigate heat gain and filter light throughout the day. The project is targeting Net Zero and is designed as a Case Study Home for sustainable modern design.
